Baby Steps to Change

News Article

This saying applies when it comes to your health as well.  A little planning goes a long way and it takes work to achieve good fitness, skin protection, healthy teeth, weight loss and social ties.  Many of these habits take effort that need to be scheduled into our busy lives.

To eat healthy, for example, it would help to set aside time to draft a menu, make a grocery list, go to the store, prepare meals, and pack breakfast and lunch. Yet the overall benefits are priceless. Someone once said that “If you think education is expensive, you should try ignorance”.  Well this saying also applies to taking your health for granted.

Studies have shown that our metabolism slows down in our thirties.  This is a sign for us to start paying attention to health and diet in our mid-twenties to early thirties so that common sense will become a habit in our mid 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. This saying applies when it comes to your health as well.

Here are thirteen habits the experts say that we should make routine in our daily lives:

1.     Eat breakfast every morning

2.     Add fish and Omega-3  fatty acids to your diet

3.     Get enough sleep

4.     Make social connections

5.     Exercise for better health

6.     Practice good dental hygiene

7.     Take up a hobby

8.     Protect your skin

9.     Snack the healthy way

10. Drink water

11.     Eat dairy

12.     Drink Tea—preferably decaffeinated

13.     Take a daily walk

Planning is the key to everything, the biggest mistake that people make with their health is that they take it for granted.  The better we are to ourselves the longer we will be around.  I mean, we probably would not put second rate gasoline into our fine automobiles. So why wouldn’t we put the best stuff into our bodies. Remember regular servicing does a body good.                                          Huey P. John

Here’s How the Program Works

It seems that people are in love with what we are trying to do, however, they are not entirely clear as to exactly how the Diet Groupies Program will function. The “heart” of our program will be our database. This database which is being built using a database like Google but our database will store every single fast food, snack food, popular North American restaurant and eatery along with chips, chocolate, soda on the market. Basically, if it is for sale and people eat it we will have it in our database.  So for example, let’s say that you are going to have lunch at McDonald’s and you decided that you would like to have a Big Mac, large fries, chocolate shake and an apple pie for lunch, you would punch it all into a URL bar and our program would give you a read out letting you know how many calories, fats and all of the nutritional information for that meal.

Incidentally, that meal has 2160 calories which is approximately 360 more than your daily required intake. At the same time you will be given our meal recommendations for that day prepared by our Dietitian and Personal Chef. This way our subscribers  can always compare what they would normally have on a day to day basis and really understand the cause and effect of  eating better healthier meals.  For instance, if a person is going to consume 2160 calories in one meal (the lunch we spoke of previously) what are they going to eat at all the other meal points (Breakfast, Dinner and snacks). Common sense tells us that if we burn off more than we consume we will lose weight.  In addition, there will also be tips, reminders and exercise video clips.

Sincerely, DietGroupies Inc.
